NSW: Meatworkers vote for new deal =2
AMIEU organiser Steve Gurney said the lock-out was technically imposed this morning, but after support for a new pay agreement, production would resume on Friday.
"They have agreed to endorse the in-principle agreement that was reached with the companylast week," he said.
"Because the lock-out started technically at 5am (AEST) this morning, the company hadn'tbought any stock or anything for the last week, so there's a couple of days lag time gettingthe place up and running again."
Mr Gurney said a return to work for meatworkers hinged on a pay agreement being reachedwith about 15 maintenance workers on site.
"Subject to them being able to sort that out it looks as though people will probablybe back at work as of Friday," Mr Gurney said.
