Vic: Man charged with armed robbery spree

MELBOURNE, Dec 8 AAP - A man has been remanded in custody charged with committing three
armed robberies in less than 24 hours.

Police believe the same man committed the robberies, which occurred at convenience
stores in central Melbourne, Doncaster and Box Hill between about 1.30am (AEDT) on Monday
and 12.30am on Tuesday.

Embona taskforce detectives, who arrested the man on Tuesday, said a box cutter was
used in one robbery, a pocket knife in the second and a broken bottle in the third.

A 27-year-old Ferntree Gully man has been charged with three counts of armed robbery.

He was remanded in an out-of-sessions hearing to appear in the Melbourne Magistrates'
Court on Wednesday.
