Qld: Man charged over stabbing death

A 46-year-old man has been charged with murder after a fatal stabbing in north Queensland.

Police were called to a house at Charters Towers .. west of Townsville .. after reports
that a 36-year-old man had been stabbed in the early hours of the morning.

Police say it appears the two were together before the incident happened .. but it's
unclear how well they knew each other.

It is believed a woman was also present at the time of the stabbing.

The younger man was taken by ambulance to the Charters Towers Hospital but was pronounced
dead on arrival.

The 46-year-old is expected to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court tomorrow.
